Internet dating is very popular nowadays. At the moment, an estimated several hundred thousand people living in different parts of our country have a profile on online dating sites. Most of them are looking for love and a kindred spirit. Just like Michelle who could not come across a good man after a divorce with her husband. That’s why she decided to try her luck on online dating.

The article was written based on a story of our reader. The photos are for illustration purposes only and the names of the people have been changed at the request of the reader.

It is difficult to check all the profiles

Michelle begins her story by saying that one has absolutely no chance to go through all the profiles on online dating sites. There are plenty of profiles and new ones are added every day.

“It was clear to me that if I wanted to meet someone who matches me, I would have to narrow my search a lot. Therefore, I was looking only for men who lived in a vicinity of my living area. While searching, I did not prefer hair or eye color, although I know that many women also filter their potential partner by appearance,” explains Michelle.

He immediately invited me on a date

If you’ve ever tried to get acquainted with online dating, then you probably have an idea of how it works there. If someone is interested in your profile, he can leave you a message and of course it works the other way round.

A man named David contacted Michelle. At first she was taken aback by the fact that he didn’t have a single photo on his profile. Nevertheless, he immediately invited her on a date.

“If my mother knew that I was going on a date with a man I knew practically nothing about and basically had no idea what he looked like, she would scold me for sure,” laughs Michelle. Nevertheless, she went on a date with an unknown man.

It was not love at first sight

“Do you know a cliché called love at first sight?” Michelle asks.

Without waiting for an answer, she immediately adds: “That’s not exactly what happened to me. When I first saw the man, I wanted to quit and run and disappear from the restaurant where we were to meet.”

To make it more clear, Michelle describes David as a neglected man with tousled hair sitting at a table with a beer in front of him. Although she wanted to leave, in the end she decided to stay and give him a chance.

My first impression was wrong

“It is said that we should not judge a book by its cover but that is exactly what I did that evening,” admits Michelle with her head bowed.

“I was confused by the first impression. Honestly, he didn’t flatter me at all. He may have looked neglected at first glance but when we started talking, I found out that he was actually a very nice and kind man,” smiles Michelle. We expect this story to have a happy ending after all.

“I almost made a mistake and ran away before I met David. Yes, it is true that he does not pay too much attention to his appearance but he really is a good man who brought love into my life again,” concludes Michelle.
